What's a "snapshot"? If you install 2.4.3 from source once it exists, you'll get 2.4.3. If you previously had 2.4.99, that would be a downgrade and won't work, so don't do that. Yes, since 2.4.3 doesn't exist yet, it will be more recent than the 2.4.99 you have installed, but it will not have all of the features of 2.4.99 that are slated to be released in 2.5.0 at some later date. "2.4.99" means some point along the way of developing 2.5.x, but not any particular point; you can update your git clone and rebuild to get a newer "2.4.99". If you have 2.4.99, you can upgrade to 2.5.0 once it's out.
