In my case, I am dogfooding an application I hope to make commercially available in 2010 (probably late 2010) because I do not believe *any* of the currently available Mac products scale from the small business into the larger ones.
Bluntly spoken, every accounting software product currently available hits a scalability wall at about 10 users. Further, almost all of them are so tightly focused on SOHO sized businesses that as the uptick of Mac products into the small enterprise and business shops grow, so will this demand. There is no product that can even approach the worst of the Windows products that target this segment, and when I say worst, I am talking about some truly hideous software. Scalability and accessibility are two things that quite frankly blow in most Mac software right now. At best most products offer 3-5 users of support. A handful have tackled more, but not very many, and none of them accounting. So, that said, if you can put up with an AWFUL interface, SQL-Ledger is a web based app that is workable and supports multiple users. IT runs on the Mac, uses a real database, and can be hosted on a Mac. It still sucks though. On Dec 20, 2009, at 12:35 AM, Jonathan Buys wrote: > "I do not have any sympathy for the QB developers.
