Using MYOB's AccountEdge on OS X here and like it a lot. Be aware that they try to rope you into a service in order to supply updated tax tables every year... but so does Intuit and just about every other large accounting software company that knows how to make money. It's annoying to have to sign up for this, but the theory is that for a regular yearly fee, you get all of your tax info reliably updated. Considering the work involved in keeping on top of this stuff, I suppose they deserve something. As for the software itself, I find it very easy to use. I bought QuickBooks prior to AccountEdge and found that it didn't suit my needs at all back then. Part of my business is manufacturing, so I buy components and have them built up into assemblies that get sold. QuickBooks at that time couldn't handle this sort of thing. I think that they can now in certain versions, but probably only certain Windows editions. AccountEdge is great for this. Apart from that, it also has a really intuitive interface for walking through most common transactions. I found this to be way nicer than QuickBooks. The other thing that I should mention is that MYOB has sold off AccountEdge in the US to a company called Acclivity. Hopefully they will be in this business for the long-haul. They've recently announced a change to their tax table subscription that I mentioned earlier that makes things a bit more reasonable so there's at least something positive to this. One last complaint that I have with AccountEdge is that it phone's home periodically to verify your license. If MYOB or Acclivity or whoever else is running things decides to stop, so will your AccountEdge software. That's a scary thing to me.
