Well, me too, but it's occasionally useful for the proprietary video 
drivers, or booting a generic CD.

But the point is, the 2.6.18 kernels I've build won't boot under elilo 
either.

I've updated my firmware. The problem occured with the original 
"bootcamp" update which I installed back in April, and with the
recent one that came out last week.
