All I can say, is that in a MBP, with mactel patches, this problem
does not ocur.
I guess you should try a vanilla, then a vanilla + mactel patches to
assert if the problem
is specific to the ubuntu kernel or vanilla. And also to check if that
problem is solved with any mactel patches.
