An 'cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/power' will give you: active state: C3 max_cstate: C8 ...
So the kernel (via ACPI I assume) is recognizing the additional power states. I'm not sure if it is possible see the other states. I found an (experimental) patch, that will use all power states. From the description: "The new implementation considers the full menu of available c-states."
