I read about it on the OSX86 forum. Just do a search on Google, there
are only 3 hits. Too bad I have no idea how to contact one of the OSX86
programmers. I do not know how to extract the efi files.

But my guess is: it initializes the SMC chip with applicable values for
my Mac. Becaus Apples firmware updates are also changed the behaviour of
the fans, what the SMC chip does is controllable or configurable.

But I have to admit, this is all wild guessing!

You seem to have debugged some of the Macos stuff as I read on the list.
