Could you describe more in detail what the problem is? I agree that 
suspending isn't stable on my MBP C2D, but in reality it sort of works 
for about a week until fglrx freaks. I use Gnome Power Manager to 
trigger Suspend (to ram) or Hiberate (suspend2disk).

Note: I use a 32 bit 2.6.21.1 kernel with 
suspend2-2.2.9.7-for-2.6.20.patch and mactel-patches-2.6.21 from May 7.

ACPI only finds the battery some of the time and I just get one 
temperature sensor. iSight doesn't work (low prio) and ndiswrapper needs 
reloading about once a day. Hardly perfect, but I live with it for now...

I find that Suspend to ram usually fails in a better way when it fails, 
so I mostly use that although I would prefer to hibernate.
