Hi guys,

I've posted on Phoronix and asked Michael Larabel there, who seems to
have some access to the ATI developers, to see if they can respond to
the issue. He is trying to help and wants some X logs which I will
send him. Others who want to get involved go to:

Stan, sorry I can't help you much regarding the iSight. I've
essentially stopped using Linux on my MBP for various reasons (so I
never tried installing 2.6.22). First, I can't seem to repartition it
to setup a shared partition so all my data is in OS X which means
there's very little to do in Linux. I could wipe my linux partition
and then maybe OS X would be happier repartitioning but I'm not that
motivated to put too much time into it now because when I'm in Linux
the fans seem to run at a much higher speed which worries me and also
the rediculous battery life detracts from one of my attractions to
this laptop. I've been waiting, perhaps naively, for ATI to finally
fix this issue before putting time into getting linux setup the way I
want it. If I get around to upgrading and find any way to fix the
problem I'll let you know.

I'm not sure how much of the power problems are related to the fglrx
drivers but considering how much better the frist rev MBPs seems I
would guess a fair amount. Has anyone tried spending some time with
powerTOP on a C2D system? Most of the discussion about this in the
past was about rev 1 MBPs.

cheers,
Sheer
