I would like to ask anyone knowledgable and concerned about MBP C2D ATI issues to get involved in my discussion over at Phoronix:
http://www.phoronix.net/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=8891 Michael Larabel (of Phoronix) has gotten a response from AMD that the cause of the powerplay problem is that fglrx requires some BIOS feature that the MBP doesn't support. I'm trying to find out more since afaik the MBP doesn't even have a BIOS but uses EFI instead. So the question becomes can we get EFI to give fglrx whatever it needs and, why is this not an issue for the rev 1 MBPs.
