Yea, you raise some good points. Nice to post it here too. I'm kinda in the
same boat as you with alot of stuff.

As for the nvidia chip not being supported, I wouldn't be surprised since
it's new, but.....
Wait til the next driver release and I can almost certainly guarantee that
it will be supported.

Not really a reason to not buy one. vesa or nv should work until nvidia does
support it (because they will sooner rather than later, unlike ati's release
schedule/support).

But yea, you need to be cautious here. They look pretty and now that I think
about it, that's probably a big reason why I got a MBP. It is a strategy
with Apple whether some think so or not. If your stupid enough to impulse
buy like me, that glowing apple and the backlit keyboard is awful
mesmerizing... :-)

Basically, I feel like Apple rushed these things out the door. They have
made many improvements over the past year but still have a way to go. I hate
hindsight... :-) Wish I knew then what I know now. I would have waited a
year or maybe even 2 until Apple worked all the kinks out of em'.

Don't know how these new MB's are going to be, but they most certainly sound
alot better than what I have now. I think it's Sheer who said he was
thinking of selling and then trying to get a new one. I feel the same way.
Too bad I can't afford to take a loss right now.

Apple should have some sort of a grace policy to offer discounts to upgrade
for all their previous customers who payed hard earned money just to be a
guinea pig. That's kinda how I'm feeling... :-(

Anyhoo... Don't rush into it no matter what. Seriously. I paid 2.2k which is
an INSANE amount of money for me. Make sure you know exactally what your
getting.

Power consumption, heat and ability to suspend without hassel are 3 big draw
backs of the MBP now. Atleast the MBP2,2 (what I have)... That and the ATI
drivers suck big time. So does the superdrive. Did I mention that it looks
pretty? :-)
