I have a Mac mini connected via the audio jack to my receiver. The volume level is much lower than the other audio sources to the receiver.
I have the gnome volume control and pcm slider at max. On an mpeg with strong audio, if I crank the receiver real high its ok, but much the receiver is much to high when switched to other sources. On an mpeg with less strong audio, I can barely crank the receiver high enough to get adequate volume. Don't know if its a Linux issue or a hardware issue.
