I am using Linux Mint 17.3 64bit on a 2009 13.3 Macbook Pro. For some reason I can not get the back light for the screen to work using the keyboard. When using the F1 and F2 buttons the screen brightness icon shows on the screen but it does not dim. There is not ppa for trusty so I used Precise as it was the last LTS on your list. Is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue? Thank you
