Feel free to drop me a line. Yahoo! Messenger is pretty usable and there 
are lot of shortcut keys. Here are some tips:
COMMAND+1-10 -- conversation windows. So when you hear someone ping you, 
simply pick one of those windows.
By default, you will be dropped into the text field where you can type. 
If you want to read incoming messages, use your VO cursor to navigate to 
the object that says "HTML Content". Press 
CONTROL+OPTION+SHIFT+DownArrow to begin interacting with it. All your 
messages will be there. Start typing and you will be automatically 
transferred into the text field
You can find out more shortcut keys by looking at the menus.
