If it happens that you wrote a password and forgot it, you might just  
be able to rewrite it.

OK someone else should comment on this too.  So I know if you have the  
leopard installation CD there is a way to boot into the system through  
the disk and change the password.

Put CD in computer
Cmd option C to open computer view in finder, go under the CD drive,  
start the app file, should say something like " install os x.app"
It prompts you to restart the computer and you say yes
The computer restarts, you hear the apple boot up chord, and the cd  
spins around for a while.  When it stops spinning, press cmd f5 and VO  
should come on.
Go to the utilities menu VO M
under that there should be something like "password utility" or  
"change password" etc
Open that and it gives you a dialog where you can enter in a new admin  
password without knowing the old one.

I'm not entirely sure if your restoration CD that came with your  
computer would have this though I would imagine so.
