Hello,

Got iTunes 8.1.1? Try that out. Also, you could reformat the iPod  
which will force it into recovery mode and really force a restore.  
I've done that one once, but it was a last resort thought right before  
running out to get a new one. Also, Genius bar could probably help if  
you bring the computer and the iPod. Got a Genius bar newar you?
