OK, I almost feel really embarrassed asking this, but human me on this.

Now, maybe my friend Ben just got real lucky, who knows, but I wanted yall
to possibly confirm something for me, if yall have a way a doing so. I
have an IPod 4th gen 8 gig yellow. My friend has a 4th gen 16 gig black. I
noticed between my IPod which is the 8 gig and Ben's which is a 16 gig, his
click wheel seems to be a heck, and o! did? I, mention! a? heck! of a lot
more tactal than the click wheel on my 8 gig. Now, I? know, I know, again,
I never once said my question made sense. I know, same casing, same click
wheel, different size flash drive, all else, motherboard circuitry and all,
should be identical, and for that I certainly! am not gonna argue with yu
all. In theory? yes, you're exactly? right. but for some? cock eyed
reason, his wheel by far is way way way! w'w'wayyy! more tactal. IE:
between the top 12:00 position of his wheel going straight down to the
center select bubble on the wheel is way easier for me to feel on his than
on mine. On mine, I'd be darned if I could easily feel the difference in
where the top of the wheel meets the select bubble. I know this sounds so
pathetic. I sound like an idiot asking this I'm sure. I just don't have
real sensitive feeling in the tops of my fingers. Now granted, the way I
hold the thing is really weird according to most people. I am right handed,
so I tend to hold the left and right side edges of the IPod in my left hand.
So if you kind a can follow me hear, my left thumb is on the left side edge
and my other four fingers on my left hand are kind a gently grasping the
right side edge. I'm doing this about virtically in the center of each
side. so I'm not actually touching the IPod front or back. Only the edge.
Kind a think of it like you're holding a CD by its edges. That's
escentially what I"m doing. only difference is the Ipod is rectangular, not
circular like a CD. Same principle though. Now, with my other hand, and o,
btw, my left hand holding the thing, btw, is palm faced up toward the
ceiling, quite obviously. Then palm faced down on my right hand, toward the
floor, I'm taking the tip pad of my finger, not where the nail line meets
the flesh, but more actually on the pad of my finger right like where you'd
read braille with, I'm kind a making a downward hook kind a motion and
curving my index finger of my right hand down a bit and taking that pad of
my finger placing it at 12:00 on the wheel as home base, then slowly swiping
my finger to the right or left. When i wanna select, I'm literally lifting
my finger up, totally off the wheel, then placing it back down as close as I
can although often I get slightly off, and then push straight in the center,
or as close as I can to center. My friend, Ben said something about hold
the thing in one hand, like with my right hand, then make a hook motion with
my thumb from the bottom upward so obviously doing this, I'd be holding the
thing with it resting in the palm of my hand, palm faced up. then he said
kind a palm the unit, and use my thumb on the wheel, and in his words: kind
a thummit. I don't quit know what he meant by thumbing it though. So my
two main questions are: firstly, did? Ben luck out with his wheel being
more tactal? or, actually? believe it or not! are all 16 gigs a little more
tactal, like Ben's is. Cause here's the thing: my dad has a 4th gen 8 gig
like mine. Only difference is, mine's yellow, his is blue. other than that
same thing. His click wheel is like mine. NOt very tactal. When I felt
Ben's 4th gen 16gb black, I couldn't believe it! His wheel was heavenly!
compared to mine. I had no! trouble: Nada! N'n'n'nunn! working his. Even
doing it as I described above, I still! really! easily could tell what I was
doing. Does anyone have any comments or two of these units one 8 and one 16
where they can compare? Apple swore they're the same, but I promise you,
even Ben! would tell you the same, that his wheel is way! less flushed with
the unit. His is bigtime raised! Any comments?

Chris.
