Hi yeah I ahve the 8 gig model and my click wheel is the same as yours it really doesn't seem to matter where I put my finger on the wheel and drag it around like I can hilight anything and then take my finger and move it a little further back in the opasit direction put it down and move it back to where it was and change the selection. Mine came with an ipod skin so it makes it easier to tell where the top and boddom and the right and left parts of the wheel is because there's a hole in the skin where the wheel is, and those four points are I think all you have to worry about and the center has a little bit of a different texture to it and then again, if I'm not carefull, I can mess up my selection and have to get the wheel back on the item I want to select.
