That speaker facing down is a subwoofer believe it or not. Honestly I  
didn't notice a really massive difference in sound. THe 15-inch does  
seem a little louder, but then the speakers might be spaced a bit  
further out and I believe they are more under the keyboard on the 13- 
inch. However, I purchased the 15-inch not for sound, but difference  
in processor performance etc. Btw, can you tell me where the ram is on  
the MBP once you remove the bottom cover? I haven't poked about in a  
laptop much and might just be missing it. I'm pretty sure they are  
generally laid out the same.
