Hi I created the m4a file, then changed the file extension to m4r and played it in iTunes. When I go to ring tones and search for the file name the list comes up empty. Do you have an idea what I missed?

Then, manually change the extension from M4A to M4R. Then play it in iTunes and it should be added to your ring tones list.
