Thank you so much Esther and Søren. This will be very helpful, I was getting
tired of hearing “misspelled” all the time! :)

Best,

Donna

Thanks, Søren. On the U.S. English keyboard the shortcut is Command-Colon,
but I think you can find the menu option in general by going to the Edit
menu on the menu bar and finding the submenu for "Spelling and Grammar". I
was in the middle of composing a reply to Donna about general language
issues for the Mac, so this helps!

Cheers,

Esther

Hi Donna.

You can easily switch the language on the spell checker by doing the
following:

1: Press command shift period to bring up the spell checker

2: Navigate to the languages popup button, press on it and select the
language you want.

3: Close the spell checker by pressing command w.

Please note: I'm not sure the command shift period command is the same
command on all keyboard layouts. I'm using the danish keyboard layout, and I
have not any experiences with other keyboard layouts.

Hi all,

I don’t speak Welsh—really wish I did—but I do have questions about working
in multiple languages. I do a lot of writing in Spanish, and some in
Italian. Is assistiveware the best option for getting speech in those
languages? Also, is there some way for the mac to recognize that you are
writing in another language, so that it doesn’t tell you that every single
word you type is misspelled?

TIA,

Donna
