Hello, You can certainly install the OS without sighted assistance. Give this a try. With the unit running, put in the CD and shut down the machine. Boot the machine again while holding down the c key till you hear the chime. After quite a while, the DVD will stop spinning. You can now start VoiceOver. Use FN Command F5 or just Command F5. One of these methods will start VO. Just follow the prompts and you will be able to reinstall the OS. Of course, you could always call Apple for assistance. HTH.
