Hi Dan and others who have this problem. To fix this issue, you can try the following: 1: Open the Voiceover Utility 2: Navigate to the verbosity tab 3: Set your verbosity to medium 4: Press tab again and expand the details triangle, and please, read the rest of the steps carefully so you don't break any settings 5: Press the tab key again, and remember: If you haven't changed it in the voiceover settings, Voiceover will automatically interact with the table when you tab over to it 6: Now, press vo and the down arrow until voiceover says: "Text area." Then press VO right arrow once to the popup button, press VO spacebar and change it to medium.
Please note: I don't recommend you to follow these steps if you are not 100% sure on how to navigate in tables. If you select the wrong item in the table, you might break other settings which might do weird things to voiceover. I don't have this mail-issue myself, so it's just an idea which might fix this issue. If I set the text area to low, my Voiceover doesn't read the text automatically when I press VO j to jump to text area in mail. Best regards Søren.
