Hi Igor, Welcome to the Macvisionaries list, and that's a great first post link. I've seen that Dan Rodney site before, but haven't visited it for some time, and I notice that it now lists multi-touch gestures (which, alas, I can't make full use of with an older MacBook touchpad). I was particularly intrigued by some of the iPhone suggestions at:
http://www.danrodney.com/iphone/ Is it true that you can undo typing by shaking the iPhone? (I don't have one, so I'm really curious). I'll point you to an archived post that has a few additions to the "Working With Text" shortcuts that allow you to select by adding a shift key press to the movement commands: http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/msg02038.html (there's an obvious typo in that post): command+down arrow move to the end of the document shift+command+down arrow select to the end (not beginning) of the document For more background on the connection between these shortcut sequences and emacs keybindings, see Greg Kearney's post in the old list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg30978.html (Re: Going to the beginning and end of text) One of the links that Greg gave allows you to customize the Cocoa text keybindings (though I think some aspects of this functionality may be available in Snow Leopard), Cheers, Esther On Sep 5, 2009, Igor Kaplan wrote: > Hi all listers! > Well, since it is my first post to this list, let me introduce > myself. > My name is Igor.
