Hi, I installed Thunderbird on my Windows machine, imported all my mail into it, then copied the folder containing the mail to my Mac and used its import options to import from thunderbird. I did more or less the same thing with my address book, but there was an additional step of saving the address book to a different format before importing it into Mail. I can't remember what format it was, unfortunately. I followed the steps in David Pogue's Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, available from Bookshare.
