Hi Christina,

When you click on the "see all" in the search results for the Store in
iTunes 9, the table is still in the HTML area. It's a bit like what
you get in iTunes 8 when you run a search from the Power Search menu
that you can access from the "Store" menu of the iTunes menu bar (VO-
M; press "S"; arrow down and press "S" to get to the "Search" option
and press return), or that you can navigate to by using item chooser
menu on the iTunes home page or the various music, movie, audiobooks,
etc. pages when you look for the "Power Search" link.

When you look for results of the search that are in the HTML area --
say, "Albums", and you VO-Right Arrow past that heading category,
you'll also find a "see all" link. When you press that link (VO-
Space), you get an entire HTML page of album results and no songs
table when you stop interacting and VO-Down arrow from the HTML area.
There are also links to navigate to the next page if there are too
many results to display on a single page. However, what's different
is that the album listings are shown in grid view mode instead of list
view mode in the HTML area, and since the information about artists
etc. is grouped by the grid entry, you can't sort as you can on a
table where the data is summarized in columns.

In iTunes 9, the table is still in the HTML area. I think it takes
somewhat longer to refresh and display in HTML format than it does for
a list in plain text, but it's not a terrible difference. I'm guessing
that Anna had difficulties previewing the later songs in a long list
on the main search results page, because they probably put the song
results into a scrolling table to occupy less space, while still
displaying the album, music videos, other artist, etc. search results
in the HTML area of the search results page -- just as they do in
iTunes 8.

On the separate HTML page for the songs table that you get when you
press the "See All" link you can still sort on the columns. The only
thing is, you have to do it the way that sighted users do by clicking
with your mouse or trackpad or using VO-Shift-Space or pressing "5" on
the numeric keypad with NumPad Commander, on the title of the column.
Probably the big thing is that you can't navigate down the columns
(e.g. sort by Artist name and VO-Down arrow) -- at least I can't in
Leopard.

There are actually some nice features in iTunes 9 -- the big thing
being that smart playlists have become much more customizable. Here's
a link to an iLounge article about what's new in iTunes 9 followed by
a partial excerpt about smart playlists:

I suspect they'll stay with the songs table in the HTML area for
future versions of iTunes 9, but that they'll improve the navigation
for VoiceOver in the next minor release. I have to upgrade to iTunes
9 because of its support for the new iPod Touch, and there are new
syncing options (including, for iPhone and iPod Touch users, the
ability to update iTunes Store apps individually and links to let you
check the iTunes Store page descriptions to decide whether you want to
upgrade.)

HTH

Cheers,

Esther
