Yes, but just your admin or account password. There is no need to be Root to run it. Please stay away from Root access unless you either absolutely need to make yourself Root to fix/troubleshoot a problem or you know what you are doing. This account is not available by default for a good reason. You can do serious damage to your system if you don't know what you are doing as Root. You have full permission to make any changes to any file, including protected system files. Furthermore, you get no warning or notification if you change anything because you are running as Root user.
