Hi all
Before we start, I do not mean share files across the internet on the mac; I
mean share files locally from a Mac to say a Windows computer.
Well I have now achieved the above today so that's progress on the Mac front
smile. I have a feeling it's actually easier to set up file sharing on the Mac
compared to Windows. I mean it's more intuitive to do. Everything can be done
in the Sharing section of System Preferences. First check File Sharing to turn
it on, make sure both SMP and ASP are checked, click options button, check any
accounts you want to be made available for file sharing (required to share
files across one or more Windows computers), click done and from your Windows
computer it should just work by either searching for your Mac in the list of
networks or by typing in a run or command box
\\
followed by your Mac, such as
\\chris-mac
hope this helps.
