The other way to do this is longer, but you should know it just in case. Put 
your cursor anywhere on the misspelled word and bring up the context menu with 
vo-shift-m. The first items are the spelling suggestions; move to one and hit 
enter to use it. Below these are the "ignore" and "learn" options, which will 
temporarily mark the word as correct, or add it to your dictionary so it is 
always correct, respectively. Those two options are the main advantage of this 
method, as they do not appear in the suggestions list you can get by moving to 
the end of the word.
