I'm with you and think it's discrimination for security companies to
flag assistive software as potentially malware.

Yeah I definitely think it's worth trying on the Mac side. Mouse emulation
didn't work on the Windows side and I realize it's not the same on the Mac. But
I suspect you might have to turn VO off to get past their security. My primary
issue was not wanting to give money to a company that was unwilling to even
consider making their app more accessible as a conscious decision.

Just an additional note: mouse keys are independent of Voiceover, and use the
actual mouse pointer, so if you can find the items you want to click on, it
might be more reliable. As far as routing the vO cursor, you can do this, but
you can also set navigation in VO utility to have the VO cursor always move the
mouse pointer.

Yes you can mouse on the mac with VoiceOver alone. By default the VoiceOver
cursor does not follow the mouse pointer but you can always route the mouse
pointer to the location of the VoiceOver cursor with vo-command-f5 then
simulate a click with vo-shift-space. This does not always work in all apps but
it certainly can be done. You can also enable mouse keys and the right side of
your keyboard turns into mouse simulation functions.

I haven't tried the Mac version but the Windows version specifically requires
you to use a mouse. When I spoke with them, it's intentional since they think
keyboard interfaces are insecure. So, not sure if you can successfully mouse
options on the Mac. But they're not interested in improving accessibility.
