I think Mavericks rebuilds a number of indexes such as spotlights which
can take a while. Like Alex said, all that should settle down after 'a
while'.

I have a Macbook with 4 gig memory and I hpdated it to Mavericks last
night. Things are very sluggish and busy. They are slow to respond
and mail seems the worst. I thought 4 gig could run Mavericks on a
Macbook. Is this wrong? Are there things I can do to get it to run
better?
