A question about finereader pro and sending text to an aplication.

Hi all.
I really love working with the finereader pro for mac. There is one
thing that annoys me.
I have been using the windows version of finereader for many years,
a function that I really like is the send to function, but this
function is not included in the mac version. I wonder if you could
make a script that will send the document to e.g. textedit but
without having to export and save. If anyone knows something I
would be glad to know.
Best regards Annie.

Hi Terje.
I bought the canon canoscan 9000f. This is really a scanner that
works. I have never got a scanner to work as fast as this one.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Best regards Annie.

Hello all.
Is it possible to have these items on my desktop, as they were
connected directly to the iMac, instead being on the Airport Estreme?
Thanks.
Gabriel.

Are you talking about your hard drive? Maybe external or did I
misunderstand your question?

Hi Jim.
If configured so, you may have all the external driver eventually
connected to Mavericks, on the desktop, as you usually have just
the main one.
That’s happens when drivers are connected via some port, like USB,
or when they are available in the same Local network.
Unfortunately this seem not to be true for those drivers who are
link via the Airport Extreme.

Hi,
In the Finder Preferences (cmd-comma while in the Finder), you can
check the box to have Connected Servers show on your Desktop. When
this item is checked, there will be an icon representing the
network drive displayed on your Desktop just like when you have a
drive connected directly via USB, Firewire or Thunderbolt.

Where to purchase Amadeous Pro

Hi max, yes, the version from his website is less crippled in a few
areas.
I purchased via the App Store when I first got a Mac, and ran into
a couple of issues with more complex functions. The developer
converted my purchase so it would run with the version on his site.
To be compliant with the App Store's guidelines, an app has to
conform to Apple's strict sandbox rules. His version does not.

Sluggish behavior After Updating to Mavericks
Kristeen Hughes <[email protected]> Apr 29 02:56PM -0400
I know this has been discussed before. If there is an archive I
can't find it.
I have a Macbook with 4 gig memory and I hpdated it to Mavericks
last night. Things are very sluggish and busy. They are slow to
respond and mail seems the worst. I thought 4 gig could run
Mavericks on a Macbook. Is this wrong? Are there things I can do to
get it to run better?
Thanks.
Kristeen

Are you running all the latest updates? I found that 10.9.2 fixed
those problems for me. Also, Mail may take a while to sync
everything and settle down, so if it is the primary source of the
trouble, see if it doesn't fix itself in a couple days. To test
this, quit Mail entirely and go about your normal usage, then open
Mail again and see if anything changes.

In addition, did you run repair disk and restart your machine? I'd
suppose that, if indeed you downloaded and installed Mavricks just
last night, Odd's are you are running the latest version.

This is a Macbook that they do not make anymore. It's about three
to four years old. Is there a reason to think I should go back to
Mountain Lion and if so, how do I do that?

I think Mavericks rebuilds a number of indexes such as spotlights which
can take a while. Like Alex said, all that should settle down after 'a
while'.

printer sharing
Tim Kilburn <[email protected]> Apr 29 12:24PM -0600
Hi,
I’ve got a number of these System Pref errors while using the
Printer pane of System Prefs with VO. From what I recall, this is
an issue between VO and System Prefs, not anything you’re doing
wrong. Sometimes you can work around these things by turning off VO
prior to doing some activities within the System Prefs and clicking
your mouse or trackpad the sighted user way. If you have access to
sighted assistance, you may wish to have them help with this task
for now. I imagine it will be fixed soon as it was never an issue
in the past but somehow cropped up in Mavericks, maybe even late in
Mountain Lion.
Sorry, not much real help here.

Roboform for Mac
Robert C <[email protected]> Apr 29 09:07AM -0700
Is anyone using Roboform? Is it compatible with Coiceover? Its
installed, activated and the toolbar is enabled but the toolbar buttons
are dimmed. If I go to the applications folder and open it, I get a
welcome screen that has two choices I need to choose. But there are no
buttons, nothing happens. If I bring up the RB menu, some items like
prefs are also dimmed. I am in contact with RB tech support but
they are
not seeming to know what they are doing.

If you're not on Mavericks, this prefs pane supposedly works:

Likewise folks said Psst works as well:

Others like to use Start Ninja to turn off the chime:

I am on Mavericks. It is not a huge feel. I just like to know an
easy way to do it if necessary that will not damage the system &
work with voiceover.

Mailbox Sort Order in Mavericks
Tim Kilburn <[email protected]> Apr 29 09:29AM -0600
hi,
One more option that’s a little more invasive but should do the trick.
1. Quit Mail.
2. Go into ~/Library/Mail/v2/Your_Mail_Account
Normally, you would go to the Finder then press cmd-shift-h then
open the Library file if it is visible. If your ~/Library folder is
hidden, then, when in the Finder, press VO-m to go up to the
menubar, over to the Go menu and, using VO-down, navigate to the
Library item then press return. You’ll now be in this usually
hidden folder.
3. Open the Mail folder.
4. Open the v2 folder.
5. Locate the Mailbox folder that has the incorrectly sorted folders.
6. Press cmd-c to Copy it.
7. Go into the Terminal app.
8. Enter the following commands (exclude the dollar sign)
$cd pathname - where the pathname is entered by pressing cmd-v.
That is, you’re pasting the path you copied in #6. Press return.
$mv .mboxCache.plist .mboxCache.plist.bak - Note that there are
spaces between items, a “dot” before the filenames, and that the
first “c” of “Cache” is in caps.
What you’re doing here is renaming the first filename to the second
filename. Because this file has the “dot” in front of the filename,
it is normally an invisible file and should remain this way.
9. Quit Terminal app.
10. Open Mail and it should rebuild the .mboxCache.plist file for
you and consequently fix the problem.
You’ll need to do this for each Mail account that has this issue.
Note the word “should”. This is my favourite word in computer-land
as it covers my behind in case things don’t work as I planned.
