That's quite possible.  Otherwise it's difficult to explain the difference.  I 
guess once one has the purchased copy from the appstore there is no way to 
change that.

I now have learnt by trial and error that when I've scanned the document from 
within FineReader, and then press command+s to export all pages, I do get a 
window with all the file types available, including the .txt and .epub etc, all 
the ones you mentioned.  There are also choices to adjust to the right of the 
file types.

i do have another question though.  If I want to scan my document into an image 
file and save it as an image file for reference or just as an exact copy of the 
scanned document, how can I do this?  Do I choose as my file type "image"?  And 
if yes, will it give me an exact copy of my document?  I'm a bit unsure of 
this, because FineReader Pro also produces its own file with extension frdocx 
which you are always asked whether you want to save it or not when closing the 
application having exported your document.  I'm not quite sure what this frdocx 
is.
