I use a Refreshabraille mostly with my iPad Mini and at work via USB to a yucky
windows box. The device is great and has nice crisp Braille output.
Unfortunately, the programs to update firmware only come as windows
executables. Besides, they haven't released any software updates since 2011 or
2012 or so. I used it a bit on my Mac Mini a while ago but eventually quit
doing it because I didn't want to keep having to switch Bluetooth on and off to
change the Braille display back and forth between Mac and iPad. I will have to
say though, one day I was messing with output devices and managed to lose
speech from VO. Thank God for my Braille display at the time; I was able to
keep on going with Braille and correct the output device issue, get back speech
and no sighted help was necessary.
