Hi Matt,

I stand corrected.  This used to be the case in Snow Leopard and earlier and I 
actually have heard of this sort of thing for moving Home directories to other 
locations but somehow I didn't make the connection.  Old age I guess.  Anyway, 
there's also a Apple Support article at

that outlines the method that MacWorld likely mentions as well.
