Hi Daniela,

Except for the conversion and stream capabilities, it looks like QuickTime will
allow me to do the same things as Mpeg stream clip, and I can record my clips
there too.
I only need to do simple clip trimming like cutting out the first and last few
seconds, or isolating takes. Then these clips can be put into a movie format
with titles and transitions in iMovie.
I belong to a online music school where I need to create video clips of my
playing for review/critique by a teacher, and it doesn't need to be too
fantastic - just decent quality audio and full visibility of myself playing.
QuickTime would actually fit the bill, but I like to put a title and a few
transitions on the clip using iMovie.
I can do all this within iMovie itself, including recording the clips, but I'm
looking towards the day when Apple kills accessibility to iMovie altogether.

Thanks for the info, and I am also hoping for a more accessible iMovie.
