Another possibility is CPUs. Win8 should have at least two CPU allocated
to it. I think it will run with one but probably pretty slow.

I changed my sound buffers so audio games would play better, and this

even that; have a sighted person watch as you perform normal tasks. If
Windows reacts immediately but speech lags, consider changing the
sound buffer size. If the whole thing is slow, your problem lies
elsewhere. If you want the link to the article I used, let me know and
I can dig it up. I can say, though, that I did this with no adverse
effects to my VM (the trick is to completely shut down the VM first).

Hi all,
I'm working with a friend who has a macbook pro 13inch with the
complete maxed out specs. 16gb ram, I7 processor and 1tb SSD.
He is using windows 8 under VMWare fusion.
He's given windows 8gb ram and is finding that the VM is super slow
to react to key presses.
I know that there is a trick to adjusting the buffer size so things
will speed up, but this did horrible things to my system as well as
his system requiring reactivation of JAWS and the sound was horribly
glitchy at times.
Is anyone who uses JAWS in a VM on windows 7 or 8 getting great
responsiveness? If so, what did you do? Are you using 32bit or 64bit?
64bit would be good if possible and are you using a macbook pro or
air and what are the specs.
Recreating the VM or modifying it is an option and I am prepared to
work on this until it's fixed.
Thanks.
