Hi May. If this friend is the same person you're talking about that has the Mac 
that reverts back to the old apple ID the person previously had set up, you may 
have a problem. In any event, I will tell you how I created a bootable 
installer of OS X using a flash drive. First, I googled an app called Disk 
Maker X and installed it on my Mac. When I launched it though, it wasn't really 
accessible, and I don't know if that has changed. If so, once you've downloaded 
the version of OS X you want, don't install it, just launch disk maker X and 
make the bootable drive. Note that it has to be at least an 8 GB drive and has 
to be formatted.
