Hi May. What you could try is boot up in recovery mode with command+R I think it was, and have it format the hard drive. After that is done, You can use the internet download feature in recovery mode and download it that way. Note that in order to select your wifi network in recovery mode, You'll have to have sighted help. If you and your friend aren't comfortable with doing that step yourselves, my other suggestion is take it to an Apple store and have them clean install the OS for you.
