Hi, As I mentioned, you can disable them globally or just for specific apps.
1. To disable them globally. * Go to System Preferences. * Open the Keyboard pane. * Activate the Text tab. * Navigate to the "Use Smart Quotes and Dashes" checkbox and uncheck it. * Close your System Prefs. Smart Quotes will be disabled across all apps that support this feature. or... 2. To disable/enable Smart Quotes and more for specific apps. For example, Mail or TextEdit. * Up to the Edit menu. * Down to Substitutions. * Right to the sub-menu. * Uncheck the options you wish to uncheck. That should do it. HTH. Later...
