oh, it takes m4v, but I heard that there is a lot of quality degradation in the
conversion/compression process, visually anyway, not so much aurally, which is
all I really care about.
It’s a great video exchange teaching site for Bluegrass instruments - among
others called
www.artistsworks.com
You create and upload a video of your playing of a given lesson, and the
teacher reviews and critiques your video with one of his own, the two are then
paired and stored as a “video exchange” and can be viewed by all other
students. Other video exchanges from the student body are also available to you
for viewing/learning.

It’s a great concept and new to me. It’s kind of like “fly on the wall”
learning where you essentially sit in on the lessons of any/all students.

Of course, there is a large catalog of prerecorded lessons by the teacher for
each genre/instrument for viewing as well, and other stuff too like interviews
with famous players etc.
If you’re a guitarist, or any number of other instruments and genre’s, and you
are looking for a new way of learning/advancing then check it out - I am very
impressed with the banjo portion of the site anyway.
