You don't specify if you were trying to buy a song on an i-device or on a Mac
computer. Here's what I did on my Mac with Safari. I'm writing down the steps
as I do them.
I searched for the artist I wanted and then went to the link for the album and
then the individual song (there was a "buy now" for the whole album too). I
found the "buy" button but actually I interacted because there were four items,
so I interacted to make sure I specifically did vo-space on the button. It
brought up a dialog where I could pick my price ($1 being the default but even
if the default is your choice you still have to put that in the blank; otherwse
you won't go to your shopping cart and you may not see the reminder to put it
in a price; that may be what you left out.) and where I could put in a a
discount code or ask to be emailed when the artist releases new music. I found
the checkout now button and further on an add to cart button with various
choice about checking out now or later etc.

I did vo-space on add to cart; I could have just bought but I wanted to check
everything for you. Then I found my shopping cart and did vo-space on the
checkout button and found myself at the paypal options (you don't have to have
a paypal account to do this). From there you should be okay. I suspect that you
just assumed you didn't need to type a price in the field if you were going to
pay the default. If you still have problems, post again more specifically. If
you did this from your i-device instead of your Mac, I can probably take a look
at that approach for you too. Of course you had a direct link so didn't have to
do the searching steps.

Hope this helps.
