Hi thanks for the reply according to apple
that will not work because they have enabled find my iphone with a password
and to be able to restore the phone I have to turn off find my iphone so I
think the thumbscrews will have to come out so just a word of warning to
others don't loan your phone to people and let them turn on apps because yu
can end up with a brick like me

You won't like this answer, and I hope somebody has got a better one. 

 

Do you have a lot of important stuff on there? If not, you could try putting
in a pass code too many times, which will result in erasing the phone and
you can start over, and hopefully you have your stuff on the Cloud. The best
of course if you could get that so-called friend to tell you what the number
is. I suspect you can't, or you wouldn't be writing us.
