I think that, for some of them, it may have to do with a lack of seemingly
simple instructions on how to add music, add videos, check this or that album
or this or that song to synch or not to synch. I think also, to speak frankly,
that some of us, (doubtless without meaning to) instruct others in how to do
something with far more steps than are strictly necessary: and, as a
consequence of all the above, iTunes resisters, (such as I myself once was)
claim it's to complicated. As for iTools, I can't argue with its accessibility
for the most part, nor with its ease of use. However, I do have one very
serious issue that I have found. Apparently, when you add tracks to an iDevoce
after going through all the work of ading meta data taggs and making sure that
everything is correct, all that work goes down the drain when iTools adds the
tracks to the device because, for some blasted reason, all the critically
important meta data gets stripped out so that the iPhone cannot see exactly
where to put the new tracks and thus, they don't show up in the albums you've
done the work to put together. Yes, the songs are added: but, the only way in
which to locate them is to go to the more tab and, from there, select songs
rather than albums. IF you just want songs, that's okay I guess, but, if you
are like me and you instist on properly organized material, that's a real drag.
That's why iTunes is still the better way to proceed. With iTunes, you can
add .wav files, have iTunes do the .4ma encoding for you and, of course, it
will even move individual files in to the appropriate folders depending on how
you tag them. And, for my money, that's much better.
