This works indeed. And its doable. I sernt an email to Apple about it, maybe someday. But at least there is a simple work around. Thanks for that idea.

after login.
2. With the edge, you can log in with the display on usb and then switch to 
bluetooth and the display should come up again just fine. It doesn't matter 
whether or not you unplug the usb cable; once it is switched to bluetooth, usb 
will be ignored.
