Hello Anita. You have the following for writing text: characters: each character you type is spoken. Words: no characters are spoken, only words are read out after you press space and/or punctuation marks. Characters and words: all characters are spoken, as are words when you press spacebar and/or punctuation marks. Nothing: No keyboard echo at all. To access these option, press VO +V. VO should announce, "adjust typing echo. Make your selection with the up and down arrows and then press enter to confirm your selection. Hope this was helpful.
