Hello list,

I've been wondering for quite some time if a person can record their
own daisy book using the mac and a microphone. I sometimes need
someone to read/record a book for me and it would be nice to be able
to mark it up with pages and chapters and such.

Yuma,

Are you in the US? If so you can use and get more info from bookshare.org
. You pay a membership and then you can download books in daisy
format. They are text based and therefore require a text to speech
software or hardware that will play daisy books. I could be wrong but
I believe they have free books that do not require a membership.
These may or may not be available to people outside the U.S.A. You
could check out there website to find out for sure.
