I see that there are some settings that will make the column browser option in
the menus disappear and the cmd-b only to ding, because i just did it by
accident and then got it back but i'm not sure what I did. Yes, you did state
that you didn't have the column browser but since I am able to get it I was
trying to state specifically how I was getting the column browser so you could
confirm. I am still trying to find the email I did this back a while ago wen it
was being discussed; I don't think I erased it. I also do know, and I mentioned
it in that earlier post, that unless you get out of the pop-up in a certain
way, albums continues to be the default and what you see; it doesn't have
anything to do with whether or not you know how to get out of a pop-up or at
least it certainly took me by surprise.. As I'm exploring here, it appears that
column browser does not come up unless you are either having the mymusic or
itunes store radio button selected. Also, if you go into the popup to the right
of iTunes Store, you must interact with the table after opening the popup and
then press return when you are on the choice you want. It appears to me that
you only have the column browser option if you have songs showing as your
choice. It definitely defaults to album if you don't do this exactly right and
the reason it has taken me so long to post this is that i have been doing it
repeatedly to see what happens. Once you change to songs and the popup closes
showing songs, you may possibly even get a ding the first time you try cmd-b
but after that you should be able to toggle and it should also be in your menus
as I described.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."
