Hi,

A number of things to note for you:

• Maybe just a typo, but in the Terminal command, you need a dash before the rf 
in order for that command to work.

• Are you trying to remove the .applesetupdone file while in Recovery mode?  If 
not, files like the .applesetupdone have a period or dot in front of them which 
make them invisible to the ls command unless logged in as root or using the 
sudo command.  sudo will do you no good in this case though since you don’t 
know the original Admin password.  If you’re attempting this while in Terminal 
after starting from the Recovery partition, then that’s odd.

• Regarding re-installation of 10.9, no installation DVD’s are required.  You 
can accomplish this from the Recovery partition as long as you enter an Apple 
ID that has 10.9 Mavericks in it’s purchase history.
