As another poster said, you can vo-shift-m on the file and download it. The 
other way is to simply move to the link (vo-cmd-l if that's easier), vo-space 
on it, and let Safari open it. If it's a Dropbox link you can download the 
file, or if it's a direct link to audio or video it will play in Safari. In the 
latter case, interact with the video playback toolbar, vo-shift-m, and choose 
to download the file if you decide you still want a copy. Just another way of 
doing the same thing.
